Music
Leader: Tom Fortier

Worshipping through music at Holy Spirit offers a way to actively participate in giving glory to God. At the present time we have four choirs which provide music for our worship services.

The Adult Choir is a non-audition group that rehearses from September through mid-June on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM.  The choir provides musical leadership to the hymns and songs sung by the congregation on Sunday. They present an anthem every week rotating between early and late service.  The Adult Choir sings a variety of styles from classical to contemporary. In addition to singing every Sunday this group prepares extra music for Christmas, Easter and other special programs.

The Youth Choir is for any young person from 6th grade thru high school, interested in learning contemporary christian music and presenting it to the congretgation. This group meets September through mid-June every Sunday following 10:00 service. This is also a non-audition group, the only requirements being a desire to praise God with music and a commitment to being at the rehearsals.

The Children's Choir is for children from 2nd grade thru 5th grade, and meets September through mid-June every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6 P.M. The children learn songs that teach them about God's love for them and their commitment to God as His children and as part of the family of God. They present their music to the congregation every 4 or 5 weeks.

The SonBurst Ringers and Singers is for children who are are at least 4 yrs old, or will be 4 by Jan.1st, thru first grade.  They rehearse September through mid-June every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6 P.M and present a song to the congregation every 4 or 5 weeks either alone or with the Children's Choir. In addition to singing songs about God's love they also ring color-coded handbells.

Song Leaders, Vocal Soloists, and Instrumentalists are always wanted and appreciated in our music program. Anyone who would like to lead congregational singing, provide a special solo, or play an instrument for service is encouraged to contact Tom Fortier at directorofmusic@holyspiritlc.net or call the church office.
