Food Distribution

Working in partnership with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan since 2007, we offer a free food distribution on the third Saturday of the month from May through October beginning at 9:00 a.m. This event is held in the church parking lot and is open to all in need. No proof of income is required, just a photo I.D.

Volunteers park at the Sikh Temple lot just south of the church and help unload and sort the food beginning at 8:00 a.m. When we start the distribution, some volunteers push shopping carts to each of the stations and pick up the food order which is then taken to the line of waiting vehicles. After all the food has been distributed, the volunteers help clean up and have a light lunch afterward.

This event serves approximately 200 household each distribution with a shopping cart full of food. This is a great volunteer opportunity which takes no special skills, is open to all ages, takes about 4 hours once a month and helps those in need.
